SHIRAZ WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

      This project includes augmentation of water supply installation's capacity to Shiraz from Doroudzan dam and construction of reservoirs and pipeline rings.

Introduction and goal of the project

      The goal of “Augmentation of existing water supply installation’s project” is to increase the amount of water transmitted by two folds than before and with the ceiling of 156,000 cubic meters per a full day and night period.

      It is also aimed to achieve the final goal of increasing potable water storage capacity required for the consumption of Shiraz population by construction of new reservoirs and connection transmission lines between them.

Location and Sections of the Project

      This project consists of renovation of three pumping stations, one potable water treatment plant, telemetry system, several reservoirs and one raw and treated water transmission line. The boundary to execute construction works of the project begins at Doroudzan dam and along transmission line beside Doroudzan dam road to the bridge named Khan, and then continues along the Isfahan-shiraz road and within the Shiraz province to Abivardi reservoir. The project also has a different section from Akbarabad T-junction to Maaliabad reservoir.

      The capacity of pumping stations number 1, 2 and 3, are 9,600, 6,500 and 6,500 cubic meters per hour respectively. The capacity of potable water treatment plant, situated within the boundary of pumping station number 2 is 6,500 cubic meters per hour and the transmission capacity of different segments of pipeline varies between 3,500 to 9,600 cubic meters per hour.
